Renovation of Staff Homes

$75,000 each

Up to 30 staff families live in individual houses at Yemin Orde. The houses are dispersed throughout the Village. Staff are available to the children 24 hours a day. Many of the staff houses are about 30 years old and in need of renovation.

In order to attract and retain quality staff, Yemin Orde must provide decent, livable housing. Staff houses will be renovated two at a time in order to benefit from economies of scale.

Renovation of Children’s Homes

$350,000 - $750,000

Many of the children’s homes were built in the 1950’s and are in need of major renovations. These dormitories house four to five children in a room, and most homes accommodate approximately twenty-four children. Two larger buildings each house fifty students.

Of the original student homes, seven small houses are currently in need of funds for repair and renovation.

Sports Field / Athletic Center

$1,000,000

There is no organized space at Yemin Orde for athletics or soccer. For outdoor team sports, the children always have to travel to other facilities quite far from the Village. A new sports field at Yemin Orde would serve as a venue for competitive athletic events as well as physical education exercises.

The sports field will be located at the far end of the Village and will have outdoor lighting, changing rooms and rest rooms, as well as bleacher seats for spectators.

Auditorium / Theater

$2,500,000

Yemin Orde currently lacks a multipurpose Auditorium/Theater that would serve as a meeting space for students, graduates, and visitors to the Village. A new auditorium, which would accommodate 700-800 people, would include a stage, extensive meeting room facilities, and up-to-date audio/visual equipment. It would serve as the setting for Village activities such as assemblies, graduation, drama and theater productions, and holiday celebrations. It would also provide a suitable venue for national conferences. Such conferences have thus far been hosted in the Village’s dining hall and library, which are not properly equipped for these types of events.
