Nestled in the beauty of the Carmel Mountains in northern Israel, Yemin Orde Youth Village is home, school, and haven to more than 500 children from 20 countries, ranging in age from 5 to 19 years old. The village community, along with Yemin Orde Educational Initiatives
is anchored in a unique philosophy that cherishes diverse cultures, cultivates self-esteem, and develops leadership among its children.
Trauma and displacement bring children to Yemin Orde Youth Village, where they learn to live in wholeness – healthy, capable, and strong – thanks to a balance of principles:
Tikkun Halev, healing the heart, and Tikkun Olam, healing the world.
Israel's "News for Youth", on Channel 2, featured Yemin
Orde in its "Mt. Carmel Fire One Year Later" report.
On Dec. 3, 2010, a terrible wildfire swept through the Carmel Forest and nearly destroyed Yemin Orde. Children and staff members and their families were evacuated safely to a nearby village.
Recovery efforts are underway: new electrical and plumbing systems, new homes and offices, new landscaping, a new library, and more. It will take nearly two years to rebuild the entire village.
Yemin Orde is not simply one village or one school. It is a proven way of living and learning for children in need. It is a path to success for Israel’s next generation of leaders. We invite you to join our special family.
