Building Bridges Between Baltimore and Yemin Orde

Yemin Orde Youth Village welcomes Baltimore teens visiting Israel as participants of this year’s Elijah Cummings Youth Program (ECYP).  ECYP Fellows inspire their generation by gaining first-hand cross-cultural knowledge and skills.  Also, the program aims to break ECYPgroup with signstereotypes, build friendships and strengthen the bonds between African-American teenagers and their Jewish counterparts in Israel.

The ECYP is a two-year leadership fellowship for students entering their senior year of high school in Baltimore’s 7th Congressional district.  The program was created in 1998 as a joint effort between U.S. Congressman Elijah Cummings, who represents the 7th Congressional district, and the Baltimore Jewish Council.

• attend briefings and seminars on the history, politics and culture of Israel
